Searching For Satisfaction

Black Girl Unlost?

A lot of people ask why I named my blog both “Black Girl Unlost” and also “Searching For Satisfaction”…

“Black Girl Lost” is a book written by Donald Goines. If you don’t know who he is, Google & Amazon.com are your friends. While I never experienced the things talked about in the book…for a long time I felt lost, like I was just wandering…trying to discover who I was & what I wanted out of life & what my purpose was. When I started this blog, I was at the point in my life where I felt I was beginning to emerge from the forest, I was no long lost & alone, but instead I had a purpose & a path. Hence, “unlost”. It originally was “found” but that blog title was already in use on Blogger *sigh*

“Searching For Satisfaction” comes from one of my favorite books, written by one of my favorite authors.

I read J. California Cooper’s In Search of Satisfaction many years ago & it has always stuck with me. A tale of many different people from different walks of life, all joined by their desire to gain some type of satisfaction – with themselves, their lives, their family & friends. That’s been my pursuit for a very long time – to be happy and satisfied with my life, my decisions, etc.

3 years later and I’m still in the hunt…come join me….
